Zinn Education Project. Teaching for Change is proud to co-sponsor the Zinn Education Project with Rethinking Schools. Thanks to the generosity of an anoymous donor, we will distribute 4,000 Zinn Education Packets to schools across the country in the first phase of the project.

Boleros & Blues: The Legacy of Lara. Friends in the DC area are encouraged to attend the Teaching for Change fundraiser at GALA Theatre on June 10, 2008. Boleros & Blues is an original musical on the life and songs of Agustín Lara. Print the flier (PDF) for ticket information and to help us publicize this event. Special thanks to the GALA Theatre for their generosity.

Peniel E. Joseph, author of Waiting 'Til the Midnight Hour: A Narrative History of Black Power in America spoke recently at both Busboys and Poets bookstores. His talk, From Black Power to Barack Obama was based on a recent article in the Brooklyn Rail.

Two Webstores Teaching for Change has its own webstore with carefully reviewed and selected titles for pre-K-12 and adult/teacher education. This is a full-service webstore where you can search for progressive resources by title, subject, grade level, and/or key words. We now offer an on-line option for other titles we recommend but don't carry in our catalog. You can order almost ANY book, DVD, or CD through this commercial site and the proceeds support the Teaching for Change bookstores. (Please note that we do not select nor do we endorse the ads on this site.)

Two Bookstores Teaching for Change has opened a bookstore at the Busboys and Poets in Shirlington Village, Virginia. Come visit and see the great collection of progressive books for all ages.
