We compiled the lists below in response to requests from teachers for resources to address particular subjects and issues in the classroom.

Great Books for High School
Here is a tried and true selection of books that will engage high school students and have a social justice or social issue theme. This list was compiled primarily by the Portland Oregon Public Schools Literacy Leaders. A collection of teaching guides, children's literature, fact sheets, and pro-bono legal aid.

Sports and Social Justice
Fiction and non-fiction for elementary, middle and high school. There are lots of books available with a sports theme, this list has identified those that also address a social justice issue as part of the story.
